Fender Modern Player V Jazz Bass Guitar
Since the 1960’s the Fender Jazz bass has been an iconic electric bass design. After Fender ditched their MIM bass, they moved to make a bass that continues to stand out and out came the Modern Player Jazz Bass. This version simply has everything you can ask for in a jazz bass. New great look with a satin finish and loaded with tons of versatility.
This bass features an alder body, maple neck with “C”-shaped profile, and a maple fingerboard with 20 jumbo frets. Neck adjustments are a piece of cake with the easy-access truss rod adjustment wheel. The black pick-guard and vintage-style black plastic control knobs (two volume and master tone), and five-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge give it the jazz bass feel with all the power of a rock bass. It’s surprising smooth tone just pleases your ears. The convenient new four-position rotary pickup selector switch (full middle and bridge pickups, full middle pickup and bridge pickup outer coil, full bridge pickup and middle pickup outer coil, outer coil of both pickups).
I tried out a modern player jazz at a music shop while visiting in Minnesota and i was VERY impressed with it, The double humbuckers, versatile EQ, and nice fast neck, made such an impression on me so I went and bought one. Despite it’s classic look and familiar appearance, this bass takes you to a different level of quality among it’s peers. This became a regular of mine due to it’s functional capacity to cover all sorts of styles I play regularly.
